10 Aug 26 Day #10 in Madagascar Day #9 on the Africa Mercy Ship

After months of planning and preparation for this 2 week stint, I now have to start getting ready to go home and it’s only Monday!

Things to do:

1. Fill out self evaluation
2. Complete Disembarkation Paperwork
3. Have my large suitcase packed and up on Deck 5 by 4 PM Thursday
4. #3 requires some planning as I work on Friday and then travel on the domestic flight on Saturday and won’t have my large suitcase until I get to the hotel in Tana.
5. Have my cabin inspected Saturday morning prior to departure.
6. Arrange to have the money in the ship bank withdrawn. Other option is to spend it all!
7. Get an official ship photo taken by the communications team.
8. Make sure to say goodbye (or see you later which is the preferred Mercy Ships thing to say) to all the people I met who aren’t leaving.
9. Get back into town to shop for souvenirs.

Today’s OR was with the general surgery team. It’s my last day with this team so we took a picture before starting our day. We had 5 cases and got done in record time. 4 hernias and 1 lipoma have been eradicated.

Tomorrow I will be in the plastic surgery OR. Wednesday and Thursday cleft palates and Friday back to plastics.
